Do you recall when you decided that you wanted to become a Veterinarian and did a particular individual or a situation  affect you decision?

My uncle is a vet, my mother a dentist, my grandfather a MD.

Why did you decide to specialise in Orthopaedics?

Fascinated by the locomotor capacities of horses!

Have you invented or described an orthopaedic technique or instrument of which you are particularly proud ?

walking cast for complex fractures treatment (Nemeth and Back 1991) 
use of EMG of the neck for detecting neurologic damage (Wijnberg et al. 2004)
rolled toe shoes for preventing navicular pain (Van Heel et al. 2006)

 How do you see the future of Veterinary Orthopaedics?

improved 'key hole'/arthroscopic surgery (incl. standing) techniques 
evidence development for regenerative medicine treatment
turn key objective lameness registration
